The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (NDA & NA) twice a year to select candidates for admission to the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

Eligibility for UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024:
- Nationality: Indian citizen
- Age: 2nd January 2001 to 1st January 2006 (Unmarried male candidates only)
- Educational Qualification:
- For Army, Navy, and Air Force: 10+2 pass with Mathematics and Physics
- For Naval Academy: 10+2 pass with Mathematics and Physics and must have passed Physics in the 12th standard examination with at least 50% marks.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards.
Selection Process of UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024:
The selection process for the UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024 consists of two stages:
1. Written Examination:
- Date: 21st April 2024
- Pattern:
- Mathematics: 2 hours, 300 marks
- General Ability Test: 2 hours, 400 marks (including English, General Knowledge, History, Geography, Current Affairs, etc.)
- Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and each incorrect answer deducts 1.25 marks.
2. Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview:
- Candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for the SSB interview, which is held at one of the 15 SSB centers located across India.
- The SSB interview assesses a candidate’s personality, leadership qualities, communication skills, and suitability for a career in the armed forces.
