Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV Exams) has decided to postpone ten postgraduate examinations originally scheduled for January 22, in light of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.
The deferred examinations include all MA, M.Com, MSc, MSW, and MHC first-semester exams that were initially planned for January 22. DAVV has officially updated this information on its website.
This decision aligns with the Pran-Pratishtha Mahotsav of Lord Ram, scheduled on the same day in Ayodhya. The university administration recognizes the significance of accommodating the festive atmosphere and acknowledges the substantial participation of students and teachers in various auspicious events organized in the city on that day.
DAVV Exams: The move to reschedule the exams was prompted by students and faculty advocating for either declaring the day a holiday or deferring the examinations. Representatives from the BJP submitted a memorandum to the DAVV administration, expressing the sentiments of the community.
DAVV Exams: “The university aims to ensure a smooth examination process while accommodating the religious and cultural events significant to its community. We had received many requests from the students and teachers also,” said DAVV controller of examinations Ashesh Tiwari.
The rescheduled dates for the first-semester examinations of MA, MCom, MSc, MSW, and MHC will be announced soon and uploaded on the university’s website, according to Tiwari.
DAVV Exams: In a related development, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has also announced the postponement of two exams for DELEd first and second year, originally scheduled for January 22. Proficiency in English first year DELEd and Pedagogy of Environment Studies second year exams have been rescheduled for January 25, as per the notice. This course is designed for teachers of primary and pre-primary classes.
Gangadhar Meher University has also rescheduled exams for the Nua-O programme. Some students criticize the decision, while university authorities state that it was made upon student request. Other universities in the area are also conducting Nua-O programmes before exams.
