Registration for UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024 began today. If you’re interested in these exams, you can sign up until January 9, 2024, at 6 PM. This recruitment aims to fill 400 positions. The UPSC’s official notice advises candidates to review the eligibility criteria before applying.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (NDA & NA) twice a year to select candidates for admission to the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, and the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of the UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024:

Eligibility for UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024:

  • Nationality: Indian citizen
  • Age: 2nd January 2001 to 1st January 2006 (Unmarried male candidates only)
  • Educational Qualification:
    • For Army, Navy, and Air Force: 10+2 pass with Mathematics and Physics
    • For Naval Academy: 10+2 pass with Mathematics and Physics and must have passed Physics in the 12th standard examination with at least 50% marks.
  • Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards.

Selection Process of UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024:

The selection process for the UPSC NDA & NA I Examinations 2024 consists of two stages:

1. Written Examination:

  • Date: 21st April 2024
  • Pattern:
    • Mathematics: 2 hours, 300 marks
    • General Ability Test: 2 hours, 400 marks (including English, General Knowledge, History, Geography, Current Affairs, etc.)
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and each incorrect answer deducts 1.25 marks.

2. Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview:

  • Candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for the SSB interview, which is held at one of the 15 SSB centers located across India.
  • The SSB interview assesses a candidate’s personality, leadership qualities, communication skills, and suitability for a career in the armed forces.

  • Application Closing Date: 9th January 2024
  • Date of Examination: 21st April 2024
  • Declaration of Result: June 2024 (tentative)
  • Commencement of Course
