Registration, initiated on December 20, for the NDA, NA exams will cease tomorrow at 6 PM. The examination, set for April 21, 2024, aims to fill 400 vacancies across the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 153rd Course and the 115th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) starting from January 2, 2025.

Pre-Medical Examination: The UPSC advises candidates to undergo a medical examination before submitting their applications. Rectifying minor ailments beforehand expedites the finalization of a medical examination at the Military Hospital post SSB recommendation.
Common Defects/Ailments: Commonly found defects include ear wax, deviated nasal septum, hydrocele/phimosis, weight-related issues, undersized chest, piles, gynecomastia, tonsillitis, and varicocele, among others.
Tattoo Regulations: Permanent body tattoos are permissible only on specific areas – the inner face of the forearm and the reverse side of the palm. Tattoos elsewhere will disqualify candidates unless in adherence to tribal customs.
Medical Treatment Entitlement: Candidates are entitled to outpatient and in-patient treatments for injuries or diseases sustained during the examination process, courtesy of service sources.
In-patient Treatment: In-patient treatments are provided in the Officer’s ward of a hospital for specific conditions or when the medical board mandates observation, ensuring adequate accommodation is unavailable locally.
Medical Examination Post-Screening: Recommended candidates must undergo a medical examination by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those declared fit will gain admission to the academy.
Appeals and Review Process: Candidates declared unfit are informed by the President of the Medical Board and provided with the process for an Appeal Medical Board. A Review Medical Board is an option if deemed unfit in the Appeal Medical Board as well.
