Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently distributed 35,770 scooters to deserving students who scored well in their class 12th exams. This initiative is part of the Pragyan Bharati scheme, honouring Banikanta Kakati, aimed at incentivizing students who achieved above 60% (girls) and 75% (boys) marks.

The scooters are a token of recognition for the outstanding academic performance of these students in the 2023 higher secondary examinations.
“The scooters given as a reward for their academic excellence should inspire these students to continue excelling,” said the CM. This year, Assam plans to grant scooters to 35,770 eligible students, with 30,203 being girls securing first division and 5,567 boys achieving over 75% in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by AHSEC in 2023.
