The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the ugc net 2023, UGC-NET exam for students affected by Cyclone Michaung. The exam was originally scheduled for December 6, 2023, but was postponed due to the cyclone’s impact on Chennai and Nellore in Andhra Pradesh.
Several aspirants were unable to attend the University Grants Commission (UGC)’s National Eligibility Test (NET) on Wednesday, December 6, with the passage of Cyclone Michaung causing intense rains and flooding in many parts of Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
The rescheduled exam will now be held on December 14, 2023, for affected candidates in Chennai and Nellore. The NTA announced the rescheduling in a public notice issued on December 12, 2023.
This decision was taken in light of the disruption caused by Cyclone Michaung, which affected transportation and communication in the affected areas. Many students were unable to reach their exam centers due to the cyclone, and the NTA has taken this step to ensure that they have a fair chance to take the exam.
The NTA has also announced that the admit cards for the rescheduled exam will be available for download on its website soon. Candidates who are eligible to take the rescheduled exam will be able to download their admit cards by logging in to their NTA accounts.
The ugc net exam is a national-level exam conducted by the NTA for determining the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in universities and colleges in India. The exam is conducted twice a year, in December and June.
