NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL: Candidates are invited to apply for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students, an initiative in operation since 2008. Designed to assist meritorious students with a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum, the scheme aims to support a portion of their day-to-day expenses during higher studies.

Target Scholarships: 82000 per year (41000 for boys and 41000 for girls)
National Scholarship Portal Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum.
- Students above the 80th percentile in the relevant stream of Class XII (10+2 pattern or equivalent) can apply.
- Pursuing regular degree courses at recognized colleges/institutions (AICTE approved).
- Not eligible for correspondence, distance mode, or diploma courses.
- Should not benefit from other scholarship schemes, state-run scholarship schemes, or fee waiver and reimbursement schemes.
National Scholarship Portal Application Details:
- Application Deadline: January 31, 2024
- Correction Window Open Until: February 15, 2024
Renewal Criteria:
- Maintain at least 50% marks in annual examinations.
- Ensure a minimum attendance of 75%.
- No indisciplined or criminal behavior, including ragging, should be reported against the student.
How to Apply:
- Apply online through the National Scholarships Portal (www.scholarships.gov.in).
- Direct applications sent to the Ministry of Education will not be accepted.
- Verification of credentials, including caste and educational qualifications, will be done through DIGILOCKER facility of the MeITY, Govt. of India.
- Guidelines for application, verification, selection, and disbursement will follow the NSP standards.
- Online applications will undergo verification at both the Institute and State Higher Education Department levels.
Important Note:
Students changing their college/institute can continue/renew the scholarship with a valid AISHE code.
For renewal, applicants must submit their applications within the specified cut-off date.
